Committees were formed to:

• Suggest viable solutions on significant issues and policies and make recommendations to the full Board
• To monitor activity in key areas of responsibility
• To work together to further the interests of the residents of the Chicago Housing Authority

Matters necessitating Board approval are first referred to the appropriate standing committee. Committees then report to the Board, orally and/or in writing, at the monthly public meeting of the Board. For meeting dates, times and locations, please refer to the Meeting Schedule.

Each Committee consists of five Commissioners and each Commissioner is a member of two Committees. The Chairperson is an ex-officio voting member of all three Committees, but not counted to establish a quorum. The CAC Chairperson is a voting member of the Tenant Services Committee and ex-officio member of the Operations and Finance Committees with voting rights, but not counted to establish a quorum.
