Creating More Affordable Housing: Pedro Albizu Campos Apartments Opens
CHA joined elected officials and community partners May 17 for the ribbon-cutting of the Pedro Albizu Campos Apartments in Humboldt Park.
CHA is providing Project Based Vouchers for 31 of Pedro Albizu’s Campos’ 63 apartments. That’s an investment of more than $22 million in rental assistance over the next 30 years.
“CHA’s Project Based Voucher investment literally made the Pedro Albizu Campos Apartments possible,” CHA CEO Tracey Scott said. “Creating new affordable housing opportunities is especially important in communities like Humboldt Park that are facing the pressures of gentrification and rising rents. By guaranteeing this long-term housing assistance, CHA is ensuring that families who live in Humboldt Park – and who love Humboldt Park – can remain in this neighborhood for years to come.”
